Valerie Nuñez is a Consultant Orthopaedic Hand and Wrist Surgeon with over 20 years experience and expertise in the management of all aspects of hand and wrist disorders and injuries.
She completed her specialist surgical orthopaedic training on the South West London rotation after which she went on to further specialise in three plastic surgery Hand Fellowships at The Hand Clinic in Windsor, St George's Hospital in south London and The Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead.
She has published a number of papers in peer reviewed journals and presented at international meetings in Europe and abroad.
She is a keen educator and has travelled internationally to establish sub specialty training and educational courses in El Salvador and Sudan. She also regularly lectures and provides talks to both healthcare professionals and the public via Foundation meetings and Patient Groups.
She was elected as Chairman of the Hand & Wrist Faculty of the AOUK Trauma society in 2014, and was an invited International member of the Hand Expert Group of the AOTK Trauma Foundation based in Switzerland from 2016 to 2021.
Miss Nuñez has been an Examiner for the FRCS (Tr&Orth) exit examination for the past 5 years.
She is married to Matthew, a Consultant Urological Surgeon, and has three children. When she is not working she enjoys catching up with friends and family, walking, crafting, and reading.
